Tsum Valley is an isolated as well as sacred Himalayan valley located north of Gorkha. This off–beaten trekking trail offers immense natural beauty and a fascinating cultural experience of Tsum. The people of the Tsum Valley are known as “Tsumbas’’ who are of Tibetan origin and have their own unique culture. During the trek, you can see the beautiful views of Ganesh Himal, Huichuli, and Boudha Himal ranges. This region is lesser known and its remoteness appeals those who seek for the real Himalayan wilderness. This amazing trek will start from Soti Khola and passes through pine forests, raging rivers with cascading waterfalls and thrilling suspension bridges, typical villages and monasteries, offering you a unique Himalayan experience. This trail route was opened in 2008 for trekking.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m) (D)
It’s a fantastic feeling to fly over the land of Nepal. You can see beautiful snow-covered mountains. After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our team at the arrivals and escort you to your hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu (B)
After having the early morning breakfast, you will move towards Kathmandu Durbar Square to tour around the Durbar Square. You will delight in the architectural wonder of the places like Hanuman Dhoka, Kumari Ghar, Gaddi Baithak, Taleju Temple etc. Then you make your way towards the Swayambhunath temple from where you can see the mesmerizing view of the whole Kathmandu valley. After having the wonderful view of the Kathmandu valley, you will continue towards Patan city. There you will visit Patan Durbar Square which is known for Krishna Mandir, Golden Temple and Patan Museum. After observing the wonders of Patan you will be back to your hotel for the night.
Day 03: Drive to Soti Khola (730m) – 6/8 hrs (B,L,D)
Today early morning you will drive from Kathmandu and follow the Trishuli River on Prithivi Highway to reach Soti khola. Soti Khola is a gateway to the Manaslu trek.
Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola (890m) – 6/7 hrs (B,L,D)
This is your first day of trek. You will cross the waterfalls and pass through sal forest on the trail. After several ups and downs, you will reach Gurung settlement, Lububesi and then move towards Machha Khola.
Day 05: Trek to Jagat (1400m) – 6/7 hrs (B,L,D)
You will cross Tharo Khola and ascend to Khorlabesi, an enroute village. After a few ascents and descents, you will reach Yaru Khola. After crossing a suspension bridge, you will walk along the river towards Jagat.
Day 06: Trek to Lokpa (2040m) – 6/7 hrs (B,L,D)
Today you will need to show your permit for Manaslu region. You will ascend to Salleri and then descend to Sirdibas. Then your trail continues to Ghatta Khola and continues to a bridge from where you will ascend to Philim, a large Gurung village. After the village, you will cross a forest with the narrowing view of the valley to reach Lokpa.
Day 07: Trek to Chumling (2386m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
You will descend to the Luangwa River valley and ascend to the dense tropical forest of pine, juniper and rhododendron. You will take a route through Siyar Khola and climb to Chumling,
Day 08: Trek to Chhokang Paro (3031m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving behind Chumling, you will head towards Chhokang Paro. Your trail will give you the great view of Ganesh Himal while passing through Rainjam to Serpu Khola and then continue for few hours to reach Chhokang Paro.
Day 09: Trek to the Nile (3361m) via Milarepa Cave – 4/5 hrs (B,L,D)
You will walk through the villages of Ngakyu. Then you will visit the Milarepa cave. It is believed that saint Milarepa used to meditate there. The cave is also known as Piren Phu meaning “Pigeon Cave”. After exploring the cave, you will continue your walk to Nile. On the way you will see villages with big Buddhist Stupas.
Day 10: Trek to Mu Gompa (3700m), visit Dhephyudonma Gompa (4060m) – 3/4 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving behind Nile, you will head towards Mu Gompa. You will visit the largest monastery of Mansalu region, Mu Gompa and then visit another popular monastery Dhephyudonma Gompa. The Gompa is the highest one and located in the remote part of Tsum Valley.
Day 11: Trek to Rachen Gompa (3240m) – 3/4 hrs (B,L,D)
You will walk along the mountain border of Nepal and Tibet. Continuing through the Siyar Khola, you cross the bridge to reach Rachen Gompa.
Day 12: Trek to Gumba Lungdang (3200m) – 4/5 hrs (B,L,D)
Today you will start your trek from a small white Gompa and descend a narrow trail, then cross the bridge of Domje. You will continue with a steep climb through pine, rhododendron and juniper forest to reach Gumba Lungdang.
Day 13: Hike to Ganesh Himal Base Camp (4200m) & return Back to Gumba Lungdang – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
Today, you will trek to Ganesh Himal Base Camp. You will pass through the small valleys, pasture and descend to the river. After crossing the river your trail will become slightly challenging. After 4 hrs of climb, you will reach Ganesh Himal Base Camp from where you can see the panoramic of Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, Boudha Himal and Huichuli. Later you will return back to Gumba Lungdang.
Day 14: Trek to Lokpa (2040m) – 6/7 hrs (B,L,D)
Now, you will make your return trip. Your trail will descend to Domje and then you will walk through dense forest and deep gorge and bridge of Ripoche to reach Lokpa.
Day 15: Trek to Jagat (1400m) – 6/7 hrs (B,L,D)
Your trail will pass down through the pine and rhododendron forest to join the main Manaslu trail. Then you will walk through Philim and cross Budi Gandaki to reach Lokpa.
Day 16: Trek to Lapu Bensi (900m) – 7/8hrs (B,L,D)
You will descend through the beautiful terrain and cross bridge, then follow the sandy bank of Budi Gandaki to reach Lapu Bensi.
Day 17: Trek to Arughat Bazaar (535m) – 4/5 hrs (B,L,D)
Today is your last day of trek. You will trek to Arughat Bazar. You cross Budi Gandaki River and Soti Khola to reach Arughat Bazar.
Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu (1400m) – 7/8 hrs (B,L)
You will drive back to Kathmandu via Prithivi Highway. You will witness the beautiful Trishuli river and greenery of hills on the way to Kathmandu.
Day 19: Depart Kathmandu (B)
You will be transferred to the airport to board the flight for onward journey.
