Overview
Nuwakot is a historical place lying 76 km west north of Kathmandu. The place has a significant importance since the ancient times. It was the place, from where King Prithivi Narayan Shah, the founder of modern Nepal, led the unification campaign of Nepal. It is one of the untouched Newari towns with glorious architectural monuments predating and dating back to the time of the King in its Durbar Square vicinity. Hiking to this cultural town allows you to walk through the lush green vegetation and forest with the great views of snowy peaks and villages. Nuwakot is worth exploring due to its rich culture, history and fascinating views it offers.

Day 01: Hiking to Nuwakot
Early in the morning you will be driven to the hiking starting point from the hotel. It is a pleasant uphill walk through the green forest enjoying the diverse floras and faunas of the place and the beautiful view of the snow covered peaks, valley and Trishuli river. After hiking about 2/3 hours, you will reach Nuwakot Durbar Square. The Square has the King’s seven storeyed palace and a courtyard full of artistic temples and monuments. After soaking in the cultural grandeur and enjoying the panoramic views, you walk down to the road to the vehicle pick up point and drive back to hotel.
