Your trek will start from Dharapani and then pass through the diverse landscape of Annapurna region to reach the hidden valley of Nar and Phu. Retracing the trek, you join the main Annapurna Circuit Trek and end your trek at Jomsom via Thorong La Pass (5416m), world’s highest navigable pass located in Kali Gandaki Valley. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400 m)
It’s a fantastic feeling to fly over the land of Nepal. You can see beautiful snow-covered mountains. After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our team at the arrivals and escort you to your hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu (B)
After having the early morning breakfast, you will move towards Kathmandu Durbar Square to tour around the Durbar Square. You will delight in the architectural wonder of the places like Hanuman Dhoka, Kumari Ghar, Gaddi Baithak, Taleju Temple etc. Then you make your way towards the Swayambhunath temple from where you can see the mesmerizing view of the whole Kathmandu valley. After having the wonderful view of the Kathmandu valley, you will continue towards Patan city. There you will visit Patan Durbar Square which is known for Krishna Mandir, Golden Temple and Patan Museum. After observing the wonders of Patan you will be back to your hotel for the night.
Day 03: Drive to Dharapani (1860m) – 7/8 hrs (B,L,D)
Early in the morning you will drive from Kathmandu and follow the Trishuli river through the mid hill highway to reach Dharapani. On the way, you will witness the beauty of hill settlements, mountain views, Himalayan rivers and refreshing forests.
Day 04: Trek to Koto (2600m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
Today is your first day of the trek. You will start your walk from Dharapani. You will follow the lush green trail with breathtaking mountain views in the background to reach Koto.
Day 05: Trek to Meta (3570m) – 7/8 hrs (B,L,D)
You will have a long walk today. You will cross the river to enter the Nar & Phu Valleys. You will pass through the forest and small cave shelters. After crossing the narrow canyon, the trail passes under the wider stream, from where the forest will become thinner. After ascending to a hill, you will see the amazing snowy peaks and reach Meta.
Day 06: Trek to Phu Village (4080m) – 7/8 hrs (B,L,D)
You will cross a suspension bridge and climb to the Kyang Valley, where you will get the glorious views of Mt. Annapurna and Pisang Peak. Then you will pass the Phu Khola and move towards Phu gate, the entry point to Phu Valley.
Day 07: Exploration Day (B,L,D)
Today is your exploration day. You will explore the lifestyle, culture and tradition of Lamas, Ghales and Gurungs. You can also visit the oldest Buddhist monastery of the region Tashi Lhakhang Monastery with the mesmerizing view of Himlung Himal.
Day 08: Trek to Nar Village (4110m) – 6/7 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Phu Valley behind, you will head to Nar Valley. The trail passes through many gorges and suspension bridges over the stream. As you get close to Nar, you will get a closer view of Pisang mountain. After few hours of walking, you will reach a narrow gate through which you pass to reach Nar village.
Day 09: Exploration Day (B,L,D)
Today is your exploration day. You will explore the lifestyle, culture and tradition of Nar Valley people. You can hike to the several monasteries and chortens and you will be surprised to know that at least one child from every family studies Buddhism in Nar.
Day 10: Trek to Ngawal (3660m) via Kang La Pass (5320m) – 8/9 hrs (B,L,D)
You will have a long and tiring day today. You will cross the moraine of Temdenzon Khola and take a pleasant path that passes through yak pasture. From there you will get the mesmerizing view of Pisang Peak. Then you will take a trail to Kang La phedi. From Kang La phedi you will ascend to Kang La Pass. The path is difficult but it will worth the climb when you will see the mesmerizing view of Annapurna II, Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak from the Pass. Then you will again walk for few hours to reach Ngawal village.
Day 11: Trek to Manang (3660m) – 4/5 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Ngawal behind, you will trek to Manang along the banks of Marsyangdi. The trail will pass through several forests and villages offering the majestic views of Gangapurna, Tilicho peak and Annapurna massif to reach Manang.
Day 12: Trek to Yak Kharka (4110m) – 3/4 hrs (B,L,D)
The trail will ascend slowly to pass pasture land and juniper trees to reach a small village, Gunsan. Then you will walk further and cross a small river and make a way to the open valley, Yak Kharka.
Day 13: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4600m) – 3/4 hrs (B,L,D)
You will ascend to a ridge and then cross the Marsyangdi river and continue on the narrow trail and then descend to Thorong Phedi.
Day 14: Trek to Muktinath (3800m) via Thorong La Pass (5416m) – 7/8 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Thorong Phedi behind, you will take a trail to Thorong La Pass. The trail goes through the icy air with a steep climb. The view from Thorong La Pass is mesmerizing. You will see a panorama of majestic Himalayan peaks of Annapurna region and Dhaulagiri region. Then you will descend down to Muktinath. Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists.
Day 15: Trek to Jomsom (2715m) via Kagbeni (2810m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
Today early morning you will explore Muktinath Temple. Then you will trek down to Jomsom. The trail provides great views of the nearby peaks of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and Nilgiri and Annapurna massif.
Day 16: Fly to Pokhara (822m) – 25 mins (B)
You will have an early morning flight to Pokhara. After 12 pm there won’t be any flight because of the wind. While flying, you can enjoy the view of mountains. Then after reaching Pokhara you will be transferred to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day sightseeing or relaxing in the lakeside restaurants. Pokhara is the second most famous city of Nepal after Kathmandu and it is the capital city of the Gandaki Province. Pokhara, a city of lakes, is gifted with the natural beauty of Himalayas, picturesque lakes and lush greenery. The city offers exciting adventure and sightseeing opportunities.
Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu(1400 m) – 30 mins (B)
You will fly back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu you will be escorted to your hotel.
Day 18: Contingency Day (B)
Today is your contingency day in case of Jomsom or Pokhara flights delay or cancellation. You can use this day as a free day and visit different places of Kathmandu for shopping and sightseeing
Day 19: Depart Kathmandu (B)
This is your last day in Nepal. You will be taken to the airport for your flight back home.
