Your trek will start from Tumlingtar and passes through typical Rai and Sherpa villages dotted with lush vegetation, waterfalls and alpine forest offering you an opportunity to experience both nature and unique highland culture. From the base camp, you can also have some rarely seen views of Everest, Lhotse, Chamlang and Kanchenjunga. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)
It’s a fantastic feeling to fly over the land of Nepal. You can see beautiful snow-covered mountains. After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our team at the arrivals and escort you to your hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour (B)
After having the early morning breakfast, you will move towards Kathmandu Durbar Square to tour around the Durbar Square. You will delight in the architectural wonder of the places like Hanuman Dhoka, Kumari Ghar, Gaddi Baithak, Taleju Temple etc. Then you make your way towards the Swayambhunath temple from where you can see the mesmerizing view of the whole Kathmandu valley. After having the wonderful view of the Kathmandu valley, you will continue towards Patan city. There you will visit Patan Durbar Square which is known for Krishna Mandir, Golden Temple and Patan Museum. After observing the wonders of Patan you will be back to your hotel for the night.
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar – 50 mins & Drive to Chichila (1980m) – 4 hrs
You will fly to Tumlingtar with a scenic view of the mountain ranges. After reaching Tumlingtar you will drive to Chichila which is a small farm settlement with good views of mountains.
Day 04: Trek to Num (1560m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
You will start your trek to Num through the picturesque village and lush mountain forest. After 6 hours of walk along a great view of the mountainous nature, you will reach Num.
Day 05: Trek to Seduwa (1509m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Num, you will descend through the forests and terraced fields which will take you to Barun River. You will then cross the river and ascend the steps toward Makalu Barun National Park where you will get entrance permit.
Day 06: Trek to Tashi Goan (2065m) – 4 hrs (B,L,D)
Ascending to the east of Kasuwa, you will reach a quiet village passing by a small paddy field. After a few hours of steep climb, you will reach a small village Tashi Gaon. Tashi Gaon will give you a breath-taking view of the Himalaya Panorama.
Day 07: Trek to Khongma (3470m) – 7 hrs (B,L,D)
The trail is a little tough while trekking to Khongma, you have to walk on a steep trail at a higher elevation. Your trail will get steeper and passes a kharka. Following the same trail, you ascend to a small lake & and descend down to reach Khongma Danda.
Day 08: Rest Day
Today will be your rest day. Your body needs to acclimatize. So, you will rest in Khongma Danda. You can explore the nearby surrounding.
Day 09: Trek over Shipton La Pass (4257m) and Keke La Pass (4150m) to Dobate (3520m)– 7 hrs (B,L,D)
Early morning, you will climb few hours to reach Kalo Pokhari and then you pass over Keke La. From here you can see the mesmerizing view of Chamlang, Peak 6 and Peak 7. After, that you will descend down through small valley called Dobato.
Day 10: Trek to Yangla Kharka (3557m)– 5 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Dobato behind, you will pass through the rhododendron forest to reach Barun River and upper Valley. After reaching Barun River, your trek will be difficult for some hours but then, slowly it will get easy and you will reach Yangla Kharka.
Day 11: Trek to Langmale Kharka (4410m) – 4 hrs (B,L,D)
The walk will be moderate as you will walk through the yak pasture and lush forests. After some ascends you will pass though Merek, where you can see the scenic views of the Himalayas. Then you will reach at Langmale Kharka.
Day 12: Trek to Makalu Base Camp (4755m) – 5 hrs (B,L,D)
Your next destination for today is the Base Camp. Your trail will be flat through icy glaciers with mountainous background. After reaching the Base Camp, you will witness the majestic Himalayan panorama around you.
Day 13: Exploration Day
Today is an exploration day. The base camp is on Barun Glacier from where you can witness the majestic south face of Makalu and panorama views of Everest and Lhotse. You can also explore the lakes and glaciers and have a short hike around.
Day 14: Trek to Yangla Kharka (3557m) – 7 hrs
Early morning after viewing Makalu from close-up for the last time, you will descend down to Yangla Kharka through Shershong, Langmale Kharka, Merek and stop at your last destination for today.
Day 15: Trek to Dobato (3520m) – 7 hrs
You will descend through rock falls and green valley to reach Dobate. En route you will follow the river banks of Barun river as you move downwards.
Day 16: Trek to Khongma Danda (3500m) – 6 hrs
The trail ascends steeply from Dobate to Mumbuk and you will pass through the forest of firs and rhododendrons. Later on, you cross Keke la and Tutu la to reach Khongma Danda.
Day 17: Trek to Tashi Gaon (2100m) – 5 hrs
After 5 hours of steep descent, you will reach Tashi Gaon. Tashi Gaon will give you breath-taking view of Himalaya panorama. The trail passes through thick forest and a Sherpa village.
Day 18: Trek to Seduwa (1500m) – 5 hrs
Today, you will exit the Makalu Barun National Park. You will descend through forests and terraced farms to reach Barun River. You will cross the river and then reach Seduwa.
Day 19: Trek to Num (1040m) – 5 hrs
Leaving Sedwa through lush forest, the trail comes with some ups and downs. Continuing the trail, you reach Num.
Day 20: Trek to Chichila (1980) – 5 hrs & Drive to Tumlingtar – 3 hrs
Today is your last day of trek. When you reach Chichila, you get the glorious view of Mt. Makalu, From Chichila, you will drive back to Tumlingtar.
Day 21: Fly to Kathmandu (1400m) – 50 mins
After a long and mesmerizing trek, you will carry the memory of the trip and fly back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu you will be escorted towards hotel.
Day 22: Contingency Day
Today is your contingency day in case of Tumlingtar flight delays or cancellation. You can use this day as a free day and visit different places of Kathmandu for shopping and sightseeing.
Day 23: Final Departure
This is your last day to Nepal and your team will take you to the airport for your flight back home
