Besides the mesmerizing natural wonder, Lower Dolpo being a home to the unique culture of Buddhist and Bon practitioners, also provides amazing cultural spectacle of western Nepal. Your trek starts from Juphal and following the forested path covered with pine trees, rhododendrons, bamboo, juniper trees, you enter Shey Phoksundo National Park which is inhabited by endangered species like snow leopard, Himalayan musk deer, blue sheep etc. After crossing two high passes Numa La pass (5310m) and Baga La pass (5170m), you get to witness the hypnotic beauty of turquoise colored lake Shey Phoksundo. Enjoying the mesmerizing views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) and the Tibetan ranges of Kugung La and Khyung La, you retrace back to Juphal where you end your rewarding adventure.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1400m)
It’s a fantastic feeling to fly over the land of Nepal. You can see beautiful snow-covered mountains. After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our team at the arrivals and escort you to your hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour (B)
After having the early morning breakfast, you will move towards Kathmandu Durbar Square to tour around the Durbar Square. You will delight in the architectural wonder of the places like Hanuman Dhoka, Kumari Ghar, Gaddi Baithak, Taleju Temple etc. Then you make your way towards the Swayambhunath temple from where you can see the mesmerizing view of the whole Kathmandu valley. After having the wonderful view of the Kathmandu valley, you will continue towards Patan city. There you will visit Patan Durbar Square which is known for Krishna Mandir, Golden Temple and Patan Museum. After observing the wonders of Patan you will be back to your hotel for the night.
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj (150m) – 1 hr (B)
You will fly to Nepalgunj, a big town in the lowland of Nepal. After reaching Nepalgunj, you will be escorted to hotel. Rest of the day you explore the local market and surrounding.
Day 04: Fly to Juphal (2320m) – 25 mins & Trek to Dunai (2490m) – 3/4 hrs (B, L, D)
After having breakfast, you will fly to Juphal from where you will start your trek. You will walk through the local villages and fields to Bheri river. Trail passes by the bank of Bheri to reach Dunai village.
Day 05: Trek to Tarakot (2540m) – 5/6 hrs (B, L, D)
Today you still follow Bheri river. You will cross the gorges, bridge and climb over a hill to reach Tarakot, where you will see cultivated terraced fields. It is a town located on a hill of south Bheri river.
Day 06: Trek to Laina Odar (3375m) – 4/5 hrs (B, L, D)
Today you will follow the trail on the south riverside of Bheri river. You will head to the east to follow Tarap Khola and head north enjoying the views of Sandul Gompa, Hiunchuli and Churen Himal Range. After reaching valley across Sandul Gompa, you will ascend a steep trail to finally reach Laina Odar.
Day 07: Trek to Toltol (3523m) – 6/7 hrs (B, L, D)
You will follow the deep gorge of Tarap River trail and ascend the steep slopes. Then, your trail will be easy to move forward. You will follow the trail of wooden planks and flat stones that will take you to Chhyugar. After you reach Chhyugar, you will walk for few hours and reach to Toltol. Toltol is a place where people of Upper Dolpo come and settle in the winter days.
Day 08: Trek to Dho Tarap (3950m) – 6/7 hrs (B, L, D)
You will move along the riverside of Tarap river. After few hours, you will ascend to Kamattarka. To reach Dho Tarap, you will cross a narrow gorge and then you will follow the forested trail which is covered with wild roses and juniper bushes. After crossing the trail, you will reach DhoTarap.
Day 09: Exploration Day (B, L, D)
Today you will take rest and explore Dho Tarap. You will visit the monasteries and observe and learn the local culture, tradition and life style.
Day 10: Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4350m) – 4/5 hrs (B, L, D)
Today you will move towards Tarap Chu river and then ascend towards Tokyu which is a village with beautiful traditional houses. Then you will head towards northwest direction of main trail to reach Numa La Base Camp.
Day 11: Trek to Danighar (4510m) via Numa La Pass (5310m) – 6/7 hrs (B, L, D)
You will trek towards Numa La Pass through a difficult trail. You will pass through steep trail to the top of the ridges. When you reach the top, you will witness the beautiful views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Churen Himal Range and Norbung Kang (6085m). Then, you will descend to Gyambo Khola after resting for some time. After reaching Gyambo Khola, you will walk through a meadow to reach Danighar.
Day 12: Trek to Yak Kharka (4000m) via Baga La Pass (5170m) – 5/6 hrs (B, L, D)
You will move towards Yak Kharka via Baga La Pass. After a steep ascent, you will reach the top that offers the mesmerizing view of Shey Phoksundo Lake and the majestic views of Norbung Kang, Churen Himal and many others. Then, you will descend to reach Yak Kharka.
Day 13: Trek to Shey Phoksundo Lake (3589m) – 4/5 hrs (B, L, D)
Leaving Yak Kharka behind, you will ascend to Ringmo village. The path is forest covered with lush vegetation of oaks, pines, junipers and cypress. Ringmo village is a famous settlement of Bon. After a short walk, you will reach the mesmerizing Phoksundo Lake.
Day 14: Exploration Day (B, L, D)
Today you will explore Shey Phoksundo Lake. Phoksundo Lake at 3589m is a beautiful turquoise color lake and the deepest lake of Nepal. You will explore the nearby village and go to visit Tshowa (Bon Monastery) which was built 900 years ago. Then you can across many beautiful glaciers above the lake.
Day 15: Trek to Chhepka (2678m) – 5/6 hrs (B, L, D)
Today you will follow the top of the hill which will offer you the last views of the beautiful Phoksundo Lake. Then you descend to Chunuwar passing through forest area of pines and birches towards Rechi. After many ups and downs, you will reach Chhepka.
Day 16: Trek to Juphal (2320m) – 5/6 hrs (B, L, D)
Today is the last day of your trek. You will pass through villages of Shyanta and Kageni. Then you will walk through the forested path of Shey Phoksundo National Park. After crossing bridge over Dhim Khola, you reach Juphal.
Day 17: Fly to Nepalgunj (150m) – 40 mins & Fly to Kathmandu (1400m) – 1 hr (B, L, D)
After a long and mesmerizing trek, you will carry the memory of the trip and fly back to Nepalgunj and then back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you will be escorted towards your hotel.
Day 18: Free Day (B)
Today is your contingency day in case of Nepalgunj/Juphal flights delay or cancellation. You can use this day as a free day and visit different places of Kathmandu for shopping and sightseeing.
Day 19: Final Departure (B)
This is your last day in Nepal and your team will take you to the airport for your flight back home.
