Lhasa Tour is an exclusive tour to introduce the rich culture, art and history of Tibet. The tour will start from Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet, where you can explore the popular attractions Sera Monastery, Jokhang temple, Barkhor Square, and Potala Palace. After the wonderful tour of this glorious city, you will move towards Gyantse, traversing through the high passes and enjoying the beautiful view of the Himalayan ranges and landscape. Towards the end, you will visit Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet and home to historically important Tashilhunpo monastery.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa (3600m) – 1hr
Early in the morning, you will fly over the Himalayan ranges to reach the capital of Tibet, Lhasa. At Gonggar Airport, you will be greeted by your Tibetan guide who will escort you to your assigned hotel and help you in check in.
Day 02: Cultural tour in Lhasa (B, L, D)
After having a delightful breakfast, you will be briefed about today’s program. You will be driven to the different site that includes Sera Monastery, Jokhang Monastery, Barkhor Market. Sera Monastery is one of the prettiest and most famous monasteries. You will be given insight of Tibetan Buddhism by your experienced guide as you will be escorted though different sites. Then you will visit Jokhang Monastery, located in the heart of old Lhasa. The Monastery is a house to Tibet’s precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha. The monastery gives you a glimpse of the Tibetan Cultural heritage. After that you will wander around the busy Barkhor Market. It is also known as the nerve center of Lhasa. Then you will be escorted back to hotel.
Day 03: Sightseeing tour in Lhasa (B, L, D)
Today, you will be taken to the Majestic Potala Palace. You will be guided through the different chamber of the palace where you will be mesmerized by the rich Tibetan arts. The Palace exhibits the ancient Tibetan murals and beautiful statues. You will also get to observe the Tombs of the eight past Dalai Lamas. Then you will visit Drepung Monastery where you can view the chanting and different religious performance done by nun and monks. After the visit to these peaceful sites you will be bought back to your hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Gyantse (3950m) – 261km (B, L, D
Today after having breakfast, you will be driven along the Friendship Highway, passing the Khambu La (4794m), which offers the magnificent view of Yamdruk- tso Lake and Nazin Kang Sa located at 7252m. After enjoying the beautiful view, you will turn westwards, and cross another pass, Karo La at 5045m. After driving 261 km, you will see the beautiful landscape of Tibetan villages as you enter the town of Gyantse.
Day 05: Drive to Shigatse (3900m) – 90 km (B, L, D)
Today you will be driven to Shigatse after having the breakfast. Shigatse is the second largest city of Tibet and cultural, economic and political center of Tibet. It is home to 600 years old majestic Tashilhunpo monastery that has fantastic architectural style building with golden roof. There are also many other monasteries in this place which enhance the cultural atmosphere of the city.
Day 06: Drive to Lhasa (3600m) – 274km (B, L, D)
With delightful breakfast, you will explore the local market and Tashilhunpo monastery in Shigatse. Then you will be driven to Lhasa through shorter route.
Day 07: Depart Lhasa (B)
After having the breakfast you will be escorted to the airport for your departure. You will fly back with wonderful memories of the tour.
