Overview
Jamacho Nagarjun day hike is the shortest and easiest adventure activity in Kathmandu. It is an ideal hiking destination to get the fresh air and amazing view of the northern Himalayan range, and charismatic view of the Kathmandu valley. During the hike you pass through dense forest full of the oak, bamboo, rhododendron, pine and some typical plants, and if lucky you can even see some wild animals native to this region as the Nagarjun lies in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park and home to various species of animals. Day 01: Hiking to Jamacho (L)
Early in the morning you will be picked from the hotel and driven for around 20 minutes to the Fulbari gate, the starting point of the hike. You will walk for around two and half hours to reach Jamacho peak passing through dense forest called Raniban. The forest is rich in flora and fauna. At the summit lie a stupa and a tower offering the best view of the Kathmandu valley and a panoramic mountain view to the east. After having lunch, you will walk down the trail and drive back to the hotel.
