This spectacular trek to remote region will give you mesmerizing views of the majestic mountains and adventurous experience of three challenging high passes East Col (6100m), West Col (6135m) and Ampu Labtsa (5848m). It is a true adventure with a scenic beauty of Makalu and Everest regions with close up views of world’s six highest mountains Makalu (8463m), (Cho Oyu (8153m), Lhotse (8501m), Everest (8848m) and Kanchenjunga (5586m). Besides the natural beauty, it also offers you the cultural spectacle of Rai and Sherpa people of the region.
The adventure will start from Tumlingtar with trails passing through green terraced farmland, forest of rhododendrons, waterfalls and glaciers. Once you reach Makalu Base Camp, you will get spectacular views of rarely seen sides of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Chamlang and Mt. Kanchenjunga. En-route you will see some of the rarest floras and faunas of Makalu Barun National Park. After crossing three high passes one after another, the trail leads you to Everest region and you join the Everest Base Camp Trail. Following the classic trail, you wrap up your adventure at Lukla.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1400m)
It’s a fantastic feeling to fly over the land of Nepal. You can see beautiful snow-covered mountains. After you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our team at the arrivals and escort you to your hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour (B)
After having the early morning breakfast, you will move towards Kathmandu Durbar Square to tour around the Durbar Square. You will delight in the architectural wonder of the places like Hanuman Dhoka, Kumari Ghar, Gaddi Baithak, Taleju Temple etc. Then you make your way towards the Swayambhunath temple from where you can see the mesmerizing view of the whole Kathmandu valley. After having the wonderful view of the Kathmandu valley, you will continue towards Patan city. There you will visit Patan Durbar Square which is known for Krishna Mandir, Golden Temple and Patan Museum. After observing the wonders of Patan you will be back to your hotel for the night.
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar – 50 mins & Drive to Chichila (1980m) – 4 hrs (B,L,D)
You will fly to Tumlingtar with a scenic view of the mountain ranges. After reaching Tumlingtar you will drive to Chichila which is a small farm settlement with good views of mountains.
Day 04: Trek to Num (1560m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
You will start your trek to Num through the picturesque village and lush mountain forest. After 6 hours of walk along a great view of the mountainous nature, you will reach Num.
Day 05: Trek to Seduwa (1509m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Num, you will descend through the forests and terraced fields which will take you to Barun River. You will then cross the river and ascend the steps toward Makalu Barun National Park where you will get entrance permit.
Day 06: Trek to Tashi Goan (2065m) – 4 hrs (B,L,D)
Ascending to the east of Kasuwa, you will reach a quiet village passing by a small paddy field. After a few hours of steep climb, you will reach a small village Tashi Gaon. Tashi Gaon will give you a breath-taking view of the Himalaya Panorama.
Day 07: Trek to Khongma (3470m) – 7 hrs (B,L,D)
The trail is a little tough while trekking to Khongma, you have to walk on a steep trail at a higher elevation. Your trail will get steeper and passes a kharka. Following the same trail, you ascend to a small lake & and descend down to reach Khongma Danda.
Day 08: Rest Day (B,L,D)
Today will be your rest day. Your body needs to acclimatize. So, you will rest in Khongma Danda. You can explore the nearby surrounding.
Day 09: Trek over Shipton La Pass (4257m) and Keke La Pass (4150m) to Dobate (3520m)– 7 hrs (B,L,D)
Early morning, you climb for few hours to reach Kalo Pokhari and then you pass over to Shipton La Pass and Keke La Pass. From there you can see the mesmerizing views of Chamlang, Peak 6 and Peak 7. After that, you will descend down through small valley of Dobate.
Day 10: Trek to Yangla Kharka (3557m)– 5 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Dobato behind, you will pass through the rhododendron forest to reach Barun River and upper Valley. After reaching Barun River, your trek will be difficult for some hours but then, slowly it will get easy and you will reach Yangla Kharka.
Day 11: Trek to Langmale Kharka (4410m) – 4 hrs (B,L,D)
The walk will be moderate as you will walk through the yak pasture and lush forests. After some ascends you will pass though Merek, where you can see the scenic views of the Himalayas. Then you will reach at Langmale Kharka.
Day 12: Trek to Makalu Base Camp (4755m) – 5 hrs (B,L,D)
Your next destination for today is the Base Camp. Your trail will be flat through icy glaciers with mountainous background. After reaching the Base Camp, you will witness the majestic Himalayan panorama around you.
Day 13: Trek to Swiss Camp (5150m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
Today you will ascend towards Swiss Camp. While trekking, you will witness the beautiful views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Nuptse along with other mountains. After some points you will be surrounded by snow all around.
Day 14: Exploration Day (B,L,D)
You will explore Swiss Base Camp today. Your body needs rest because you have walked in high altitude and you need to adapt to the altitude. You can hike around and explore the region.
Day 15: Trek to East Col Base Camp (5700m) – 5 hrs (B,L,D)
Today you will ascend and enter into the glacier moraines. You will find the Barun Glacier in the right. After some time, you will ascend and reach to the bottom of gulley. Then the trail will be rugged and covered with rocks. While trekking to East Col Base Camp you will see stunning views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse. After few hours you will reach Sherpani Col Base Camp and then ascend to enter the valley. After that you will walk for hours to reach the East Col Base Camp.
Day 16: Climb over East Col (6100m) and West Col (6135m) to Honku Basin (5500m) – 10 hrs (B,L,D)
You will have a long and challenging day today. You will ascend further towards glacier that will lead you to East Col and after exploring East Col you will further walk to West Col which will be the highest point of your trek. Then leaving behind the West Col, you will follow the rugged path toward Honku Basin.
Day 17: Trek to Amphu Labsta High Camp (5527m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
From Honku Basin you will ascend toward Amphu Labsta High Camp. The trail is difficult but the views through the rocky-ice is mind-blowing. You can witness the impressive view of snowcapped mountains around.
Day 18: Climb over Amphu Labsta La Pass (5848m) to Chhukung (4720m) – 10 hrs (B,L,D)
Early morning you will hike over Amphu Labsta La Pass from where you get to see the south face of mountains, lakes and glaciers. Then after exploring, you will descend down towards Chhukhug village through stone walled fields and alpine landscape. The trail ahead is intersected by icy streams. You will witness the stunning views of Lhotse, Island Peak, Ama Dablam, Makalu and several others including Baruntse.
Day 19 Rest Day (B,L,D)
After a long day of trek, you will have rest at Chhukung. You can hike around and explore.
Day 20: Trek to Pangboche (3985m) – 5 hrs (B,L,D)
Next morning, you will trek along Imja River. En-route you can admire good views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. After reaching Pangboche, you will visit Pangboche monastery.
Day 21: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
Today your trial will descend down to Namche. This walk won’t be very difficult. You will descend rapidly through one forest to another enjoying the views of mountains.
Day 22: Trek to Lukla (2860m) – 6 hrs (B,L,D)
This is the last day for your trek. You will have a final goodbye to the magnificent Himalayan mountains and head towards Lukla and rest at lodge.
Day 23: Fly to Kathmandu (1400m)– 30 mins (B)
After a long and mesmerizing trek, you will carry the memory of the trip and fly back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu you will be escorted to your hotel.
Day 24: Contingency Day (B)
Today is your contingency day in case of flight delay or cancellation. You can use this day as a free day and visit different places of Kathmandu for shopping and sightseeing.
Day 25: Final Departure (B)
This is your last day in Nepal. You will be taken to the airport for your flight back home.
