Chulu East Peak is one of the most gorgeous peaks in the Annapurna region. Chulu East is the part of Damodar Himal which stands at the elevation of 6584m. Climbing this peak is technically challenging and requires basic mountaineering skills. This adventure is a combination of climbing and trekking around the Annapurna region. The trip offers a memorable adventure and amazing scenery of different mountains of Nepal – Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri Massif, Tilicho Peak, Mt. Manaslu. The trip starts from Chame and passes through several local villages to reach the Chulu East Base Camp. After the Summit, you will descend down to Manang and then move towards to the highest Pass of Annapurna region Thorong La Pass and then descend down to Muktinath where you can explore the culture of Thakali people.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)
It’s a fantastic feeling to fly over the land of Nepal. You can see the beautiful snow-covered mountains and after you land in the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our team at the arrivals and escort you to the hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu (B)
After having the early morning breakfast, you will move towards Kathmandu Durbar Square to tour around the Durbar Square. You will delight in the architectural wonder of the places like Hanuman Dhoka, Kumari Ghar, Gaddi Baithak, Taleju Temple etc. Then you make your way towards the Swayambhunath temple from where you can see the mesmerizing view of the whole Kathmandu valley. After having the wonderful view of the Kathmandu valley, you will continue towards Patan city. There you will visit Patan Durbar Square which is known for Krishna Mandir, Golden Temple and Patan Museum. After observing the wonders of Patan you will be back to your hotel for the night.
Day 03: Drive to Chame (2650m) – 10/11 hrs (B,L,D)
Early in the morning you will be driven from Kathmandu, along the Kathmandu –Pokhara Highway. From Dumre, you follow the trail by the Marsyangdi river and pass through the farm lands to reach Besisahar. Then you will continue on the trail through the small villages to finally reach the beautiful Gurung village, Chame. It is one of the largest settlements in Manang situated at the base of a hill.
Day 04: Trek to Pisang (3700m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
Today, you will begin by walking up the steep path and go through a deep gorge. Following the path, you pass through the slope of Paungi Danda. Walking on the trail you will be greeted by the beautiful landscape of Mt. Annapurna, Mt Lamjung on the east and Pisang peak on the north east. The route then takes you through the Manang apple farm and then woods to finally reach Pisang. You can explore the inscribed mani stones, gompas and enjoy the beautiful view of Pisang.
Day 05: Trek to Manang (3519m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
Leaving Pisang behind, you will climb into the Marshyangdi Valley and uphill path towards Ghyaru to reach Nagwal. Then, you will walk along the steep ridge enjoying the beautiful view of the Manang Valley and Tilicho peak. Then you gradually descend down to the valley and following the north trail to reach Manang. You can see the change in the vegetation and landscape. In this route you will see Barge monastery, the largest monastery in the district.
Day 06: Acclimatization Day (B,L,D)
As you have already gained altitude, today you will acclimatize at Manang. Today you will keep yourself busy with hiking to Bhojo monastery or Gangapurna Lake. Then you can relax and explore the area.
Day 07: Trek to Yak Kharka (4110m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
Today, you will walk towards Yak Kharka. The trail passes through few pastures, juniper trees, meadows and forest of barberry. You can experience the spectacular view of the mountains – Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak on the way to Yak Kharka. Yak Kharka is an alpine pasture.
Day 08: Trek to Chulu East Peak Base Camp (4955m) – 4/5 hrs (B,L,D)
You will follow the moraine path to reach the Chulu East Base Camp. The trail provides you the gorgeous views of mountains.
Day 09: Climbing Day (6584m) & back to base camp (4955m) – 10/11 hrs (B,L,D)
Early morning around 2 am, you will have breakfast and ascend towards the Summit of Chulu East. The path is challenging and you have to use some of the gears. The trail to the Summit has icy slope and sheer cliffs. From the Summit, you will see the mind-blowing views of Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri Massif, Glacier Dome, Damodar Himal, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak and Mt. Manaslu. After enjoying the views you will descend towards the Base Camp and take some hot drinks and soups.
Day 10: Contingency Day (B,L,D)
This is a spare day in case of any kinds of inconvenience. In the higher altitude there will be unfavorable weather condition, so this day is used as a contingency day. If everything goes according to the plan, then you will continue your trek.
Day 11: Trek to Yak Kharka (4110m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
You will descend towards Yak Kharka again after your incredible journey to the summit. You will pass through the gorgeous trail to reach the pasture land.
Day 12: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4450m) – 5/6 hrs (B,L,D)
After having breakfast, you will begin you walk towards Thorong Phedi. Today trail is uphill walk, on the way you will cross a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village. Then you further ascend and pass a cliff before reaching Thorong Phedi, the last village before Thorong La pass. In this journey you will get the magnificent view of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorong Peak and Mt. Khatungkan.
Day 13: Cross Thorong la (5416 m) and trek to Muktinath and drive to Jomsom (2743m) – 9 hrs, (B, L, D)
Today is one of the major attractions after Chulu East Peak summit i.e passing through Thorong La pass. It is one of the highest navigable passes in the world. You will cross Thorong La pass from east to west to reach Muktinath. You wake up early in the morning and climb up the trail to get the magnificent view from the top. After spending some time in the top, you will descend down to Muktinath valley, where your adventurous trek comes to an end. Then you will be driven to Jomsom through the Kali Gandaki Valley.
Day 14: Fly to Kathmandu via Pokhara (B)
After delightful breakfast, you will bid farewell to Jomsom and fly to Pokhara and catch a connecting flight to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Contingency day (B)
Today is your contingency day in case of flight delay or cancellation. You can use this day as a free day and visit different places of Kathmandu for shopping and sightseeing.
Day 16: Final Departure (B)
This is your last day in Nepal. You will be taken to the airport for your flight back home.
